Saddened by the mass redundancies and real challenges the entertainment and arts community is still facing, Dawn Farrow began this exciting and instrumental venture in August 2020, as she no longer could sit around as the industries she loves so much crumble around us. Thus, she created Dogs & Coffee; a supportive community to generate motivation for job seekers, providing useful tips and training, job alerts and guidance from industry leaders. Since its conception, Dogs & Coffee has developed a weekly newsletter, an engaging social media presence on Instagram and a variety of event series to inform and inspire.
Dawn Farrow is an accomplished businesswoman and entrepreneur who first experienced the buzz of working in live entertainment and events at the age of four, with an oversized tutu wrapped around her ankles. She travelled to London from a farm in deepest Lincolnshire to train as a dancer but also studied Business, thanks to her mother's recommendation.
After graduating, Dawn was officially the only professionally trained dancer with a business degree and set herself the goal of establishing her own marketing agency, which, after working in various roles for Clear Channel Entertainment, David Ian, Liz Koops and AKA (and even a stint cleaning loos in a dance studio), she accomplished in 2012, with the opening of Boom Live.
Boom Live ran for 8 years, building a phenomenal team and an enviable client base including Secret Cinema, Brighton Racecourse, Alice’s Adventures Underground, The Luna Cinema, Grand Designs Live, The Mousetrap, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Cage Warriors, Dear Zoo, Doctor Who, DS Techeetah Formula E, Nitro Circus.
By January 2020, it was time to chase the next dream and with a mix of fear and excitement she announced the closure of Boom Live. No one was to know that this was one of the best-timed business decisions she would ever make.
Dawn is mum to one small human and two furbabies along with her partner in crime, Duncan.
Her motivations? You guessed it… dogs and coffee!
